VILMOS BUZA, double bass

Vilmos Buza was born in Hungary and studied doble bass first in Budapest and the Berlin with Zoltán Tibay, Lajos Montag and Barbara Sandreling. He acquired further musical impulses during masterclasses with Ludwig Streicher, Klaus Trumpf and David Walter and on chamber music courses with, for exemple, György Kurtag and Fenyves Lorand. Vilmo plays with many chamber orchestras all across Europe and has been principal double bass for conductors including, for example Sándor Végh, Péter Eötvös and Heinz Holliger. As well as in Hungary he has performed as soloist in France, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, etc…With the Hungarian Radio Orchestra he has made CD recording of numerous works for solo double bass including, for Naxos, a solo work of Rossini. He hast also made CDs of the works of numerous Hungarian composers. He teaches at the Kecskemet Kodaly Conservatory.
