RAFAEL MOLINA, percussion

Rafael Molina Garcia was born in Almeria(Spain)in 1990.He made his elementary studies at the Angel Barriosconservatory in Granada, later he would be selected for the Academy for Orchestral Studies of the Barenboim-Said fundation where he began to learn the german tradition by Torsten Schönfeld.He studied percussion at the Academy of Music and Theater Rostock with Torsten Schönfeld and at the Academy of Music Dresden with Dominic Oelze and Christian Langer in Germany. In his orchestral carrier he joined the Staatskapelle Dresden, Staatskapelle Weimar, and played also with orchestras as Deutsche Symphonie Orchester, Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra under the direction of Daniel Barenboim. Since 2016 is he member of the Academy of Gewandhaus Orchestra. In this position he highlights working with Andris Nelson, Semyon Bychkov, playing chamber music with the austrian renowned percussionist Martin Grubinger and as soloist playing the concert for five percussionists and orchestra by Takemitsu.
