ANA PÉREZ NAVARRETE, ballerina and choreographer

She has worked as principal ballerina in ‘Las Sílfides’ in the Gran Teatro de Córdoba. With the
‘Mediterranean Classical Ballet’ as soloist ballerina in ‘Ballader’, ‘Napoli’ and ‘Jazz Swim’, all of which were choreographed by Fernando Bujones and ‘Tuscania’ choreographed by Angela Santos, sharing the stage with Fernando Bujones, Agnes Letestu, José Carlos Martínez, Joaquín de Luz and Francisco Nappa. 

She has performed the ‘Danza Española’ in the ‘Swan Lake’ and also as soloist ballerina in the classical dances ‘Pas de Quattro’ and ‘Paquita’. In musicals she debuted in ‘Phantom of the Opera’ in the Lope de Vega Theatre in Madrid and under the direction of Maite Marín in the musical ‘Todo para Todos’ as soloist ballerina and principal actress. 

She has performed in several operas in the Teatro Real in Madrid, with special mention to ‘Turandot’ with the Covent Garden of London production; La Colombina in the opera ‘Las Golondrinas’ for which she was nominated for the MAX awards, choreographed by Arnold Taraborelli and ‘Cinderella’ choreographed by Alexandre Stepkine. She has worked as ballerina in the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid in productions such as ‘Un día en la Zarzuela’ choreographed by Florencio Campos, ‘La Bruja’ by Fuensanta Santos, ‘El Barberillo de Lavapiés’ by Ramón Oller, ‘El Rey que Rabió’ by Michelle Man. She has also worked as assistant choreographer in the contemporary opera ‘Socorro, Socorro, Los Globolinks!’. 

She was awarded 4th prize in the international Competition ‘Prix Carpeaux’; The Association of Professional Dancers awarded her the special prize in the II International Competition in Zaragoza. 

She is Founder and Director of the company ‘Danza en Voz’, and toured with the baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez all over Spain in Theatres such as the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Teatro Principal de Mahón in Menorca and the Auditorium in Ferrol. 

She has performed as principal ballerina with the soprano Ainhoa Arteta and the baritone Juan Jesús Rodríguez in the Festival of Cap Roig (Gerona) and the Festival Iberoamericano in the Foro de la Rábida (Huelva). 

A native of Córdoba she has studied with Maruja Caracuel, Mª Gloria Fernández, Valeri Kirianov and Valentina Letova. She studied Classical Ballet in the Conservatorio Superior de Arte Dramático y Danza in Seville. She advanced her studies in the Royal Academy of Dancing in London and in Madrid in the Cátedra de Danza of Alicia Alonso and in the Escuela International of Carmen Roche, Spanish Dance with the maestro Paco Pozo and Contemporary Dance with the choreographer Ramón Oller and Toni Fabre.
