IV Isla cristina festival
3 – 7 AUGUST 2020
OCEAN OF MUSIC
Dear friends of Isla Cristina Festival,
We are very pleased to announce the edition 2020. After overcoming innumerable inconveniences caused by the current circumstances, we present a special edition, shorter and adapted to current regulations, with reduced capacity in the theater and mandatory use of mask. You can check the containment measures of the IV FIMIC by clicking here.
We will present Two extraordinary concerts, a sculptural exhibition and the Festival Awards ceremony.
Under the direction of the great harpsichordist and conductor Michael Behringer, the Baroque Orchestra of Seville will present a programme in the inaugural concert, on August 3rd, called Baroque Masters: Germany versus Italy. An exiting choice of pieces with works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Vivaldi, Telemann and Albinoni.
The night of August 7th. The FIMIC continues with its commitment to the culture of Andalusia, its artists and local associations, presenting a great concert with chamber music players from the Orquesta Joven de Andalucía (OJA), playing in the first part of the concert. The second part, the extraordinary violinist from Seville, Sofía Leifer, one of the greatest exponents of young spanish talents of recent years, winner of numerous awards and international competitions, will offer an attractive recital, with Santiago Blanco Hermosín at the piano. The proceeds of the concert will go to the AECC (Asociación española contra el cáncer).
Excepctionally, this concert will not take place at the Teatro Horacio Noguera, but at the Atelier of the sculptor Pepe Gámez, headquarter of Juventudes Musicales de Ayamonte. A unique place of extraordinary beauty.
During the openig concert, in the hall of the theatre Horacio Noguera, the exhibition: Pepe Gámez: La música en su vida artística will take place. It will bring together some of the most representative works of the renowned sculptor from Melilla.
The Isla Cristina Festival Awards, which are awarded to entities or personalities linked to the world of music and classical arts, will be presented during the opening concert of the IV FIMIC on August 3rd. The award is the work of the sculptor Pepe Gámez.
